Welcoming students for over two centuries, Morris County’s historic schoolhouses each have a unique story to tell. Highlighting dozens of schoolhouses all across Morris County, this tour not only illustrates generations of shared and universal experiences of schooling, it also highlights the restoration and reuse of these often beloved historic buildings.

Morris County, NJ
Morris County Historical Society preserves and promotes the history of Morris County, New Jersey.
Since 1971, MCHS has been headquartered at Acorn Hall, an 1853 Italianate-style country home. MCHS operates the Hall as a house museum and uses its extensive collections and archive holdings to produce exhibitions, programs, and online content related to local and state history.
MCHS is a 501c3 Nonprofit Organization Funded By Grantors, Donors, and Members.
