Take a stroll through downtown Dover in the earliest days of the 20th century when the town, which became a fully independent municipality in 1896, was near the height of its reign as an industrial hub.  Postcards of the era capture landmarks from the time, many still surviving, and daily life from days gone by.

For more views of Dover, check out Part 1.

Mansion House is among the establishments highlighted in our current exhibit, Fermenting a Communal Spirit: Morris County Taverns, Speakeasies & Social Clubs, on display through the end of 2026.
