Become a Volunteer

Morris County Historical Society’s projects, programs, and activities would not be possible without the time and talents of our volunteers. Our volunteers are a diverse group of people who give tours of Acorn Hall and assist with events, archives, research, exhibitions, and gift shop merchandising.

Our volunteers range in age from teens to senior citizens. Some give time weekly, some monthly, and some just a few times a year for special events. We tailor the opportunities to each individual to ensure the best fit, for both of us!

Come Join Us! If you are interested in volunteering, tell us a little about yourself HERE and give us a call, we’d be interested in talking with you! (973) 267-3465

Become an Intern

Morris County Historical Society is a great place gain exposure into the diverse world of small museum work. We host an internship program for high school and college students. Local high school students and college students from all over the east coast have completed internships in areas of exhibitions, collections management, and programs.

Internships are unpaid, but we do support documentation necessary to receive college credits. If you’re a history, public history, museum studies, marketing, or business student looking for a semester packed with the varied opportunities inherent in a small workplace, tell us a little about yourself HERE and give us a call, we’d be interested in talking with you!
