Augustus Crane spent three years making Acorn Hall and its grounds exactly what he wanted: a proper “Gentleman’s Farm” in the country. Now located in urban environs, devoid of the lavish vegetable gardens, fruit orchard, and animals indicative of that farm, “A Downing Garden” Tour will explore the philosophies that inspired Crane, his decisions for his home, and our on-going work to honor that aesthetic.
