Mother’s Day Lacemaking Demonstration

May 12 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm

Spoil Mom this Mother’s Day with a day out and about at Acorn Hall for a special lace making demonstration by the Lost Art Lacers of North Jersey from 1:30-2:30pm accompanied by a special one-day-only exhibit of antique lace from MCHS collections. No registration required. Moms free, $10 adults, $8 seniors, $5 students.

Acorn Hall is open for tours (free with program admission) and light refreshments will be served while supplies last on our back porch, where you can enjoy a walk around our expansive back yard, gardens, and beautiful flowering trees – the perfect backdrop for a photo with Mom! Don’t miss our current exhibit, Designed by Dempsey, showcasing the exquisite artistry of Morristown Irish dressmaker, Mrs. R.F. Dempsey (1850-1931), whose one-of-a-kind creations were frequently embellished with lace.

Founded in 1976, Lost Art Lacers is an organization of lacemakers and lace enthusiasts based in Northwest New Jersey. Their mission is to preserve the art and craft of lacemaking, to stimulate interest in and appreciation for all facets of the history, the art, and craft of lacemaking. MCHS is excited and honored to have them here to celebrate Mother’s Day with us at Acorn Hall.
