Uncle Floyd, star of stage and screen since the 1970s, is coming to Acorn Hall! As a part of MCHS’s current exhibit, Iconic Culture: From Little Black Dress to Bell Bottoms, we welcome NJ Native and national icon Uncle Floyd for an intimate afternoon performance on our 1872 Chickering Grand Piano.
Tickets are $25 per person. Reservations are required as seats are limited. Email 973-267-3465 or email MCHSAcornHall@gmail.com to make reservations. Tickets includes Uncle Floyd’s performance, tours of Acorn Hall and Iconic Culture, and light refreshments on the back porch.
FOURTH OF JULY REVOLUTIONARY HIKE AND ICONIC EXHIBIT
Thursday, July 4, 10:00 am & 2:00 pm: MCHS Executive Director Amy Curry will be leading two hikes of the most significant, albeit unknown, Revolutionary-Era resources in Morris County, the archaeological site of Jacob Ford, Jr.’s powder mill. The hike will take visitors roughly 1/4 mile from Acorn Hall to the site of the mill along the Whippany River. Hikes last about an hour and are free.
Thursday, July 4, 11:00 am-4:00 pm: MCHS will have guided tours of Acorn Hall and our groundbreaking exhibit. $6 adults, $5 seniors, $3 students. MCHS members are free.
NAMASTE IN NATURE: YOGA FOR EVERY BODY
Fridays in July, 9:30-10:30 am
MCHS invites all experienced yogis and newcomers alike to celebrate the beauty and peacefulness of our historic gardens and “Namaste in Nature” this July. Join 20-year Hatha yoga instructor and MCHS Vice President Kathleen Margiotta every Friday morning for 60 minutes of flexibility, balance, strength, and calming exercises. Grab your mat, block, water, towel, and a friend to share this unique experience. The drop-in classes are $10 each, a package of all four Fridays can be purchased for $35.
